Centrifugal Ventilator
A centrifugal ventilator is a fan that uses the rotating motion of impellers to increase the kinetic energy of gas particles.centrifugal ventilator This increases the pressure on them. The centrifugal force then moves the particles into the fan casing and ducts. The pressure of the particles in the middle region decreases, so the centrifugal force rushes in to normalize this, allowing the gas to flow out through the outlet duct.
This type of fan is used in industrial systems and in air conditioning systems.centrifugal ventilator They are very efficient in converting mechanical power into air/gas movement. Centrifugal fans are used for a wide range of applications and can handle large airflow rates at high pressure conditions. The earliest fans were used to ventilate mines for safety reasons. They are also often found in material handling systems and in applications where the pressure differences between the inlet and discharge are larger than what can be achieved with an axial fan.
Centrifugal fans are often referred to as blower or squirrel-cage fans because of their appearance.centrifugal ventilator These types of fans use a circular hub to create high-pressure streams of air using blades that rotate around it. The hub’s rotation pulls the air in and around, increasing the pressure of the stream by directing it radially, where it bends 90 degrees before being propelled out the other side. The higher airflow rates and pressures that can be achieved with a centrifugal fan make them more effective than an axial fan for many applications, especially in 'dirty' airstreams (high moisture and particulate content), or for applications where the air/gas is moving at high temperatures.
A centrifugal fan can be sized to meet a specific CFM/static pressure requirement at standard conditions by multiplying the desired output CFM by the air density correction factor, which takes into account varying air/gas densities due to changes in temperature and elevation above sea level. This is important because if a fan is specified for a certain CFM/static pressure at an alternative condition, the designer must adjust the size of the fan to accommodate this new condition.
